Sigh... The unpredictability of the future.
I have been doing volunteer work at NParks, basically just doing some visitor service thing and looking at some of my older colleagues i wonder where i will be in 10 years time.
Anw, the volunteer work is kind of meaningless to me, so i'm thinking of stopping after fulfilling the 4 days per year requirement. The people there are really nice though, and provided me a lot of advice on careers and stuff.
From her perspective, i kind of see how people are like rivers. You just go where the river channels lead you to. Where you eventually end up in depends on where you come from i.e. your source. Her part time jobs at a very young age, her family background shapes her to be who she is today.
So would the circumstances around me shape me to who i am in the future? I grow up in a less privileged environment and i admit, I'm obsessed about money. Yes, i save up and refuse to touch the money sitting in the bank. I'm seeing how i end up looking at business, econs, of which the first impression from the majority is big bucks, money.
I'm currently leaning towards econs though, after today's open house. Just very worried about how I will be able to cope with a maths based subject after receiving about 8 years of humanities-centric education.
Decisions...Decisions...
and the fact is that I'm not only choosing the course, the course is choosing me now because of my not so stellar results. ):
